Second Degree in Economics

What is a Dual Degree in Economics?

This degree program is available to students pursuing another MTU degree or who have already received a BS degree from another university. It requires 42 credits beyond the requirements of students' first degrees. However, up to 10 credits may be double counted in the first degree program (e.g., as general education distribution courses or electives). In most cases, an additional year of study is required to complete its requirements, which consist of a 15 credit 'core' (EC3001, EC3002, EC3003, EC4000, and EC4200), 15 credits of economics electives and 12 credits of business administration cognates (4 of BA2300, BA2310, BA2500, BA3400, and BA3690).
