An IS degree opens the door to an almost boundless set of professional career opportunities. The SBE's IS program provides a solid foundation in both business and computing technologies, which enables the IS majors to pursue managerial and technical career tracks in most public and private organizations. IS majors may work in tradititional IS positions such as programmer-analysts, systems analysts, database analysts, database administrators, network specialists, Internet/website developers, or systems support and training specialists. Alternatively, they may act as liaisons between business' information systems functions and their functional areas (e.g., finance or marketing) or may find career opportunities with information services consulting firms.
